About Lahti Legal Services
Retired judge is here to help
If there’s anything that stuck with her during her career it’s how overwhelming it can be for people unfamiliar with the court system to navigate it.
Most people don’t understand legal terms, where to start, how to fill out legal documents or how much a legal process might cost.
Shana decided she wanted to help.
From the start of her career in the court system through her days as a lawyer, she saw people without legal representation when they would have been well served by it — and those with legal representation when they could have completed the process on their own.
She has embarked on this project because sometimes people just want to talk to someone about what to do next. Her limited-scope services are more affordable than traditional representation.
She is focusing her work on probate and family law. If you want to stay in charge of your case, save money, and get guidance in those areas, schedule a call.
Her educational background includes:
Receiving her bachelor’s in business administration from Spring Arbor (College) University in Michigan; and
Earning her Juris Doctorate from Cooley Law School in 2001.
She is a member in good standing with the Michigan State Bar Association and is a member of the American Bar Association.
Her past memberships and positions include:
Michigan Probate Judges Association
Top of Michigan Probate Judges Association President
Michigan Probate Forms Committee
Michigan Court Reporters/Recorders Board of Review
Trial Court Performance Measures Committee
Shana held various positions in the Probate and Family Court System since 1986, had a private practice for five years, and served as the Ogemaw County Probate and Family Court Judge for 14 years.
